Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Youth Sports Development Manager, the Youth Sports Development Associate provides support to the all members of the department and leads, organizes, and executes specific outreach programming as directed by leadership. The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans Associate Program is a one-year, paid internship focused on the 2024-25 sports seasons. The position is oriented toward recent or soon-to-be college graduates who are starting their professional journey in sports. This temporary position is based in the New Orleans, LA area, and will run from July 8, 2024 – April 30, 2025.
What you will be doing:
New Orleans Saints

  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and implementation of various Youth Sports Development programs & events with an emphasis on leading and managing the execution of weekly Play Football Experiences
  • Aid in the planning and team’s execution of NFL programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, Play Football Month, NFL FLAG events, Girls Flag Football, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of various clinics including, but not limited to, Youth & High School Coaching Clinics, Skills Challenges, Parents Clinics, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of designated Youth Football Development activations with New Orleans Saints corporate partners
  • Maintain and update Youth Football Development database
New Orleans Pelicans
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and implementation of various Youth Sports Development programs & events with an emphasis on leading and managing the execution of weekly Junior Training Camps.
  • Aid in the planning and team’s execution of NBA programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, Jr. Pelicans Leagues, Jr. NBA Week, Her Time to Play, Jr. Pelicans Coach of the Year, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of various clinics including, but not limited to, Youth & High School Coaching Clinics, Skills Challenges, Jr. Pelicans Basketball Academies, Referee Development Clinics, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of designated Youth Basketball Development activations with New Orleans Pelicans corporate partners
  • Maintain and update Youth Basketball Development database
What you’ll bring:
  • Recently graduated, or is a rising senior in an accredited bachelor’s degree program
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to New Orleans for one year
  • Possess an exceptional work ethic, a strong desire to succeed, and a professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and maintain confidentiality
  • Must possess excellent organizational, written, verbal, listening, and communication skills
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by games and the NFL and NBA schedules
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. of youth football or basketball equipment
  • Regular engagement in light athletic and physical activity as part of programs and clinics
  • Must be confident and comfortable with public speaking engagements
  • Must be open to working with individuals of all ages, athletic abilities, and backgrounds
