Job Description
- Function as the primary point of contact for multi-day backpacking and week-long day camps teams. This includes working with the warehouse team to ensure pre-trip prep and post-trip cleanup are completed over the weekends, building and checking trip paperwork packets, providing logistics support to outgoing and incoming backpacking trips, and being on-call throughout the week to respond to field emergencies
- Work with the Program Director to manage the field team, including pre-trip orientations and post-trip debriefs, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring trip reports and incident reports are completed at the end of each trip
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage multiple groups utilizing the Education Center for trip starts and ends
- Conduct weekly quality checks to ensure data is correct and consistent between multiple databases for all programs delivered
- Communicate with parents and participants to ensure all pre-trip paperwork, including pre-trip surveys, is completed
- Ensure pre-trip paperwork is available to field guides at least 24 hours prior to the trip start
- Follow up with parents and participants to support completion of post-trip surveys
- Participate in week-to-week on call rotation of being physically available to respond to field emergencies, including driving to trip locations, hiking in to meet groups, and supporting participants during walk-out evacuations
- Work with the warehouse team to coordinate transportation needs, vehicle shuttles, and course resupplies
- Must be available during daytime hours Friday afternoons through Monday mornings in order to complete trip logistics responsibilities
- Able to dedicate 8-10 hours during each week towards administrative tasks related to trip paperwork management
- Must be able to participate in a weekly rotation of being on-call to respond to field emergencies during the week
- Must be able to attend training June 12-16
- Minimum of 2-3 years of field experience in the outdoor education/experiential learning field
- Experience working directly with youth and young adults, especially members of marginalized communities
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Current Wilderness First Responder Certification

- Self-starter, strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work closely with other supervisors to co-manage a team of staff, provide positive feedback, and address performance related issues in a professional manner
- Demonstrate and communicate expectations regarding punctuality, positive work attitude, and respect and care for clients
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Ability to carry, lift and move items up to 40 lbs
- Able to hike up to 15 miles in a day
- Must be able to pass federal and state background checks
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
- Must provide high quality references that can speak to the applicant’s experience working in the outdoors, experience working with youth and marginalized communities, and the applicant’s character and demonstration of ethical conduct
