Ready to make an impact? Peraton is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Systems Administrator - Journeyman to work on the Digital Transformation, Acquisition, Modernization, and Modification (DTAMM) program. Become part of our team where we will partner with the United States Space Force (USSF) to employ modernization and digital transformation efforts that enable the acceleration of a national launch cadence across the Eastern Range (ER) and Western Range (WR).
The Space Force is focused on developing a scalable system capable of responding to the demands of National Security Space Agencies' objectives and DoD's Test and Evaluation (T&E) needs as well as ensuring the Nation's ability to access space. The Range Architectural line of effort will be enabled through innovative employment of cloud technologies, software development services, AI/ML, hardware modernization, and cyber security strategies. These efforts will improve data acquisition, processing, and distribution while enhancing collaboration between government and commercial launch partners. Prototypes and emerging technologies will be advanced into the LTRS architecture and incrementally delivered as operational capabilities, supporting the objectives of increased launch capacity and tempo for our nations ER and WR spaceports. The Instrumentation Systems Administrator - Journeyman will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
• Will be part of a core team of digital engineering and system administration professionals who will provide continuity across numerous task orders over the course of the multi-year DTAMM program.
• Serves a critical function on the team, ensuring the maintenance and smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in cloud and hybrid-cloud environments, supporting digital transformation and modernization activities for the Eastern and Western Ranges.
• Requires coordination with network engineers and database engineers to troubleshoot system issues and to optimize system performance.
• Your expertise in cloud technologies and information systems will be relied upon to identify optimal solutions that meet system requirements, fit within architectural standards and best practices, and provide a performant, scalable, and user-friendly environment for both internal and external customers.
• Works with the information assurance team to plan and schedule system and software updates and security patches, ensuring minimal down-time.
• Defines policies and procedures for managing system resources, performing daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual collection of logs and usage data to support IA monitoring requirements, monitoring of resource utilization and associated cloud service-provider costs, and identification of performance bottlenecks.
• Develops automated scripting solutions to maximize efficiency of repetitive tasks.
• Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts, group management, and access control of system components.
• Collaborating with software developers and other system administration personnel, establish and administer the developmental tools suite as implemented based on the requirements of project tasking.
• Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software and allocating mass storage space.
• Ensures that SLAs are maintained for IT support to developers and users. Evaluates vendor products and makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
• Ensures defining backup and recovery policies, and ensuring they are implemented and working properly. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience. Additional years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Demonstrated experience administering systems in cloud, on-prem, and hybrid-cloud environments
• DoDM-8140.03 Basic Certification (A+, CND, Network+, or Security+)
• Position requires ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications
• DoDM-8140.03 Intermediate or Advanced Certification (Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP)

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
