Position: Switch Pastor

Reports to: NextGen Pastor

Scope: Lead the Switch youth ministry on a year-round basis

Basic Responsibilities

• Coordinate and empower volunteer leaders
• Oversee the execution of Switch year-round
• Communicate with parents
• Cast Vision

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

• Coordinate and develop volunteer leaders
• Identify potential leaders and cast the vision for our ministry
• With the Switch Admin, take new leaders through orientation & training
• Empower volunteers to develop a monthly leader schedule via Planning Center
• With the the Switch Admin, facilitate regular leader training and appreciation
• Oversee the execution of Switch year-round
• On a weekly basis, plan curriculum (preaching and small group content) and any extra activities required for Switch (school year)
• Delegate additional weekly tasks to the Switch Leadership Team such as preaching, student/parent communication, childcare, set-up, and tear down, etc.
• Communicate weekly plan to volunteer leaders via Basecamp
• Lead stage time during each Switch experience
• Plan and oversee summer programming including youth camp, small group, and large group activities
• Know every student’s name
• With parent volunteers, host fundraising events to benefit students attending youth camp
• With the Swerve Coordinator, encourage and support Swerve on the weekends
• Participate in a rotation of stage communicators for the weekend experiences including but not limited to All-Team Huddle, 180 and 360 communication times.
• Communicate with Parents
• Host parent meetings as it aligns with the Switch yearly schedule
• Post Switch info to parents via social media and Clearstream (texting service)
• Be available to meet with parents and answer questions as needed.
• Cast Vision
• Continue to inspire those around you through casting the vision of Switch in joy-filled ways
• Look ahead and constantly assess how the Switch ministry is accomplishing its vision. With the NextGen Pastor, make course corrections if needed.
• Coordinate a weekly huddle time with volunteer leaders before each Switch experience

Qualifications & Requirements

• Personal
• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Live a life of integrity.
• Have experience and desire to work with youth
• Be ready and willing to support the mission of Radiant Life
• Be passionate about advocating for others, especially students
• Be able to exercise initiative and judgment independently
• Be teachable and willing to learn
• Requirements
• Meet on a bi-weekly basis with the NextGen Pastor
• Plan time each week in order to be adequately prepared for each experience time
• Regularly attend weekend experiences at Radiant Life and be in attendance for major weekends as identified in the church calendar.
• Live up to the 5 Attributes of Partnership at Radiant Life. (Attend, Invite, Give, Serve, LifeGroup)
• Manage and administer Switch Budget.
• Align with the Biblical and Theological beliefs of Radiant Life
• Education
• Preferred: a high school diploma

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $800.00 per month

Expected hours: No more than 10 per week

Ability to Relocate:

• Abilene, TX 79603: Relocate before starting work (Required)
