Position Title: Youth Dance Instructor

Location: Mercy HealthPlex Anderson

Type: Part time

Power Wellness is a medical fitness industry pioneer who improves the lives of clients with a unique and customized approach to medical fitness center development and management. Their turnkey method takes away the stress of the development and management process allowing clients to focus on other areas of their business.

 The Youth Dance Instructor is responsible for providing dance activities and lessons in a safe, caring, secure and effective manner for children ages 3 and up. Dance Instructors should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.   

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and delivering enjoyable, structured and well-planned dance activities and lessons.   
  2. Building relationships with and showing dancers how to practice and exercise.
  3. Choreographing and directing dance routines for end of session exhibition for all age levels.
  4. Explaining and demonstrating dance techniques and methods.
  5. Controlling groups of dancers and when required disciplining them.
  6. Monitor dancers' progress, give parents updates.
  7. Set-up studio and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
  8. Accurately complete all administrative duties relating to dance classes (i.e. timesheets, student evaluations/placements, recital forms, etc.)
  9. Attend staff meetings as required.
  10. Report injuries and complete required forms.
  11. Immediately notify a supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of studio space.
  12. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years dance experienced preferred
  • Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service
  • Displays excellent problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Must possess patience, a positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
