Youth Counselor
$16.23 per hour

At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community-based services.
As the Youth Advocate (YA), you are responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for the youth in the drop in center's night program. This requires engaging with youth through a strength based and trauma informed approach to supervise their daily living skills. The YA is further responsible for knowing, implementing and adhering to the policies and procedures of the agency and program including the Agency's Mission, Vision, and Values Creed. The YA position is available per diem or full time dependent on current programming. Administrators manage scheduling based on program coverage needs; over time is requested as needed.
Requirements:
- Good writing, organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication skills required.
- Some office experience/front desk experience helpful.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Previous professional experience working with at risk adolescents and young adults preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Licensed Security Guard
