Job description

The Clark County Juvenile Justice Services Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Youth & Adult Intervention Supervisor position. This position will be assigned to the Mental Health Treatment Team within the Juvenile Justice department. The Youth & Adult Intervention Supervisor plans, directs, assigns and reviews the work of and provides clinical oversight and supervision to Youth & Adult Intervention Specialists. The Youth & Adult Intervention Supervisor also performs professional therapeutic work in the implementation of comprehensive program assessment, intervention, counseling, referral and prevention.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Some positions may be used to fill term Limited-Permanent positions. The selected candidates will be hired for a special project or duties of a limited duration and be required to sign a term of employment letter specifying condition and exact dates of employment. The successful candidates will be eligible for benefits during the duration of employment.Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field AND three (3) years of full-time professional counseling experience, preferably dealing with children and families, two (2) years of which were as a professionally licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Clinical Psychologist (LCP). Professional licensing as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor (LCADC-S), LCSW Supervisor or AAMFT Approved Supervisor preferred.

Working Conditions:
Work extended shifts or be called back on a 24-hour basis in crisis situations. Work in a locked detention facility. Provide in-home therapy in a variety of living situations.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment. Must possess a valid appropriate license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or other required certification in the State of Nevada.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff; assigns cases and provides clinical oversight for such cases; follows-up to ensure effective and timely service provision. Recommends selection of staff; trains staff in work procedures; administers discipline as required. Conducts detailed socio-psychological/clinical assessments of adult, children/youth and family clients referred through the Juvenile/Family Court system or Social Service, either in a detention or protective custody facility, a hospital setting, in the community, or in an in-home or office setting. Conducts in-depth interviews with clients, families and other appropriate individuals; administers psychometric tests and other assessment devices; confers with other staff members regarding behavior evidences and develops treatment plans. Develops comprehensive therapeutic-treatment plans; prepares recommendations regarding a variety of treatment options, including hospitalization, alternative living arrangements, short- and long-term therapy and rehabilitation, education and other alternatives. Makes and facilitates community-based referrals, coordinates treatment and follows-up as required; refers families for medical, social, economic and other services that may enhance the treatment process. Develops case files and makes accurate case notes; provides case management in specified areas of assignment. Conducts a variety of analytical studies; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; prepares a variety of written materials. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; drives a personal or County motor vehicle to various in-home and community agency sites.

Mobility to work in an office, detention or in-home setting, use standard office equipment, and to drive a motor vehicle in order to visit work sites and attend meetings; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
