Youth Activity Specialist (Woodworking Or Pine Derby Cars)

Important: We are a DAY CAMP. We DO NOT provide housing/accommodations. This is a seasonal position.

We are looking for compassionate, inspiring, dedicated, & creative leaders with a CAN-DO attitude, who will delight in bringing fun and engaging activities to our kids this summer all while making lifelong memories or friends along the way.

Projects typically include either Pine Derby cars (designing, sanding, painting, attaching wheels, and RACING) or Nail String Art (a block of wood, a simple design template, hammer and nails, and attaching string to make a design).

For the first time, we've created a few part-time Camp Guide (Activity Specialist) positions for seasoned educators who are only looking to work PART-TIME.

The Camp Guide (Activity Specialist) chooses from 2 schedule options:

Schedule 1: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays (8:20am- 3:05pm)

Schedule 2: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays -- only for Elective period (1-2 hours)

Our Guide (Activity Specialists)...

• are highly experienced educators with skills in a specific elective
• will lead/oversee at least 1 specialty elective
• are comfortable creating projects, curriculum, and have extensive experience leading this elective
• excel at managing groups with ease- can balance connecting with each camper as an individual, while nurturing a unique, fun, and spirited group culture
• possess flexibility to calmly and maturely respond to changing needs
• have a growth mindset and appreciate the opportunity to implement feedback
• consistently bring energy, enthusiasm, and spirit to their role

Specialty Electives include:

• Ceramics
• 3-D printing (tinkercube)
• Video Game Design (Bloxels)
• Scratch Digital Animation
• Reggio Style Kinder Art/Science
• Woodworking (Pine Derby, String Art, and/or Woodburning)
• Wax Art/DIY Makers
• Fashion Design (sewing)
• Archery

Essential Details

• Seasonal position
• Valley: June 17- August 2 *July 1-5 OFF
• Staff Training: June 1 & 2
• 1st Summer Activity Specialists starts at $22/hour
• Minimal additional times for camp set-up + clean-up
• Options to work future Spring/Winter camps
