JOB SUMMARY:

TheYard Manager is responsible for managing the overall operation of the equipment located in the yard, warehouse, and shop. The employee will act as a hands-on supervisor for the work of others. This position will be responsible for training, guiding, coaching, resolving issues and serving as a liaison between subordinates and upper management. The Yard Manager is responsible for operating equipment that is required to move heavy cargo such as forklifts, etc.

The Manager will direct anyone at location to work safely within company safety policies.  The goal is to ensure safe operations are carried out productively while ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Asset Inventory Management.
• Ensure machinery, equipment and facility are inspected, repaired, and maintained in safe and good working condition.
• Coordinate with WHS for equipment to be sent on weekly milk runs to the rigs.
• Coordinate with Rig hot shot set up to pick up equipment out of the milk run
• Coordinate with Corporate Logistics delivery and pick up of equipment to repair shop and/or other Nabors yards
• Maintain an orderly, clean and safe yard and shop while continually improving yard procedures, processes and effectiveness.
• Set goals for performance and deadlines that comply with company's plans and vision.
• Achieve and maintain Crown of Excellence for yard and shop
• Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties and/or delegated task.
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing, guidance, constructive feedback and coaching.
• Receive and resolve problems and complaints.
• Maintain timekeeping, personnel, training matrix, safety, equipment, routine maintenance and inspection records along with a Drug Free Work Place Program.
• Pass information from upper management employees and vice versa.
• Hire and train new employees.
• Ensure adherence to safety, legal and company policies and procedures. Take disciplinary actions if needed.
• Ensure critical equipment repair cost are charged to correct cost center.
• Environmental management of yards.  Monthly, quarterly and yearly inspections and reports must be completed and loaded on Environmental Management Team Group tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma with a BS/BA in management. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanical, welding, heavy equipment and transportation background.
• Familiarity with safety, legal and company policies and guidelines of the field.
• Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions and cross-train.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service skills.
• Outstanding organizational, problem/conflict resolution and leadership skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work inside/outside in fluctuating weather conditions.
• Computer proficient with good knowledge of MS Office.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Operate and maintain yard vehicles and equipment.
• Proficient in computer skills, specifically Excel, Outlook, and order management software.
