Responsibilities
•
The Salvage Yard Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a salvage yard, including but not limited to sorting, processing, and moving materials, maintaining equipment and facilities, and providing support to other team members as needed
•
General clean-up is a regular task
•
Sort and process materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, tires, and batteries
•
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials
•
Maintain equipment and facilities, including performing basic maintenance tasks and cleaning
•
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations
•
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations
•
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
•
High school diploma or equivalent
•
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
•
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•
Valid driver's license
•
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
•
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
•
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Must pass a background check and drug screen
