The Yard Coordinator coordinates various activities in the Yard Department, providing direction and guidance for other yard personnel in the absence of the Yard Manager and in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.”

Pay Rate:$51,725.00-$66,781.00 annually.
Pay is based upon education and experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Schedules equipment maintenance and repairs, new machine pickups, customer machine transportation, and afterhours and weekend deliveries
  • Enters yard time cards and approves paint and steam and drivers time
  • Maintains yard logs, fuel logs, environmental records, and the ship and receive system
  • Enters data into DSI and DBS for drivers time, load information invoicing, pilot car bills, and permit invoices
  • Serves as contact for purchases and the issuance of purchase orders through the Procurit system
  • Assists drivers in obtaining oversize and overweight permits from city, county, and state agencies
  • Charges out miscellaneous supply costs to work orders
  • Helps coordinate, and performs, all aspects of opening and closing various work orders for loading/unloading, incoming used and rental fleet equipment, and paint jobs
  • Assists in monitoring WIP to ensure timely completion
  • Serves as back up to the Yard Manager when gone, including serving as the main point of contact for the yard office,  wash bay, and sand blasting and paint requests
  • Relays requests via radio to coordinate load/unload of equipment, attachment moves, and big forklift work for the parts, service, sales, and rental departments
  • Maintains wash and paint boards from requests received from shop, sales, and rental departments
  • Schedules and organizes CAT Auction machines for wash and restore
  • Communicates and coordinates with other shops regarding machine status for shipping
  • Assists customers and vendors at the Yard counter and the Yard gate in their needs
  • Answers phone calls and meets and responds to the needs and requests of customers in a professional and timely manner
  • Helps with presentations and meeting materials for safety, EOS, and truck meetings
  • Communicates with customers on machine status
  • Responds to inquiries in the transport area and accessing DSI to answer billing and scheduling inquiries from customers
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience with coordinating, dispatching, or scheduling work
  • 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 1-3 years customer service experience

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 60 pounds or more
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of DBS and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In absence of Yard Manager:

  • Coordinates Yard work and assigns to Yard employees
  • Schedules yard employees for vacation, OT, and or/weekends as necessary, and submits employee time card information to payroll
  • Serves as liaison between 1st and 2nd shift

Work Environment:

  • Small and/or enclosed spaces
  • Specific Risks: Works with moving, mechanical parts; may work in high places and be exposed to equipment vibration and fumes
