Yard Clerk (Forklift Operator)

Crown Hill Stone Supply is a major supplier of landscape and masonry supplies to the wine country and we continue to grow and expand each year. The Yard Clerk I position is responsible for loading all clients in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. You will be using forklifts and small wheel loaders to load various landscape products from bunkers and pallets. As a Yard Clerk you will be required to provide excellent customer service, good communications skills, good record keeping skills, while loading clients and company trucks in the most efficient and safest method possible.

Responsibilities & Duties:

-Operate all equipment in safely & according to company policy.

-Complete equipment safety inspection sheets at the beginning of each shift.

-Load Clients accurately.

-Unload inventory and stock in proper locations.

-Load company trucks with proper pattern & weight distribution

-Make sure all inventory is tagged as it is received.

-Hook up trailers and unhook concrete mixer trailer according to policy

-Check in/out trailers according to policy

-Work with office staff on receiving and shipping paperwork

-Pull orders from pick tickets and prepare for willcalls/Deliveries

-Verify all outbound orders for accuracy before loading.

-Housekeeping duties as necessary for a safe work environment.

-Must be able to read and write english in order to complete paperwork.

-Treat Clients and co-workers with respect at all times.

-Flexibility to work Weekends, Holidays, and Overtime is required.

-Consistent & Dependable in attendance and work practices.

-Perform minor maintenance functions including, replacing bulbs, cleaning equipment/fixtures, topping of fluids in equipment, and greasing equipment as required.

-Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

-Must have a Valid California Driving Licence

-Experience operating a forklift and/or wheel loader preferred but not necessary.

-Experience in the construction industry preferred.

-Must be able to do heavy lifting (up to 100lbs)

-Must be at least 21 years of age Safety and Security: - Attend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate. -Complete and turn in daily equipment safety checklist. -Close all doors and park equipment in designated areas at closing.

-Keep driveways and walkways clear of all debris.
