Summary
The Yard Assistant Manager will manage all processes of the Yard Department including but not limited to: vehicle movement, tagging, scanning, fuel, car wash, repair orders and RTP's, company / show cars, and support FIL, UBC, & PIO department supervisors.
Responsibilities
Primary
- Manage, plan, and direct efficient vehicle movement
- Give clear direction to the Yard team regarding daily goals based on the company's objectives
- Support FIL, UBC, and PIO department supervisors in reaching goals set by department managers
- Assign tasks and provide direction to employees to ensure timely completion, quality, and efficient utilization of staffing
- Communicate work assignments to Supervisors and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day
- Keep team members advised of changing priorities and assignments
Secondary
- Work with internal and external customers to understand and meet or exceed their expectations
- Work with other Departments to facilitate the efficient movement of units on the yard and the processing of units through the VPC shop
- Provide feedback to employees regarding performance
- Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with employees regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices
- Keep Manager advised of any performance problems
Tertiary
- Ensure team members have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform their assigned tasks
- Determine and track Yard department's KPIs and make corrections and/or improvements based on analysis of results

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Associates Degree preferred
- 6-9 Years Supervisory/Management experience required; 7-11 Years preferred
- Must hold a valid Driver's License and good driving record

- The position is based out of the West Point, GA office at a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment.
