We are Looking for:
An X-ray Tech for our practice who provides specialized expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality and efficient care. In this position, you will perform radiological exams perform technical laboratory tests, and report results timely to providers.
Job Description
- Utilize X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' internal structures for medical interpretation.
- Position patients correctly to ensure clear and accurate images while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain X-ray machines and associated equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
- Implement radiation safety measures to protect patients, staff, and oneself from overexposure.
- Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
- Ensures correct imaging site, positioning, annotation, and parameters.
- Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment to maintain image quality and accuracy.
- Provide patient care and comfort, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring their well-being throughout the imaging process.
- Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including, organizing workflow and actively participating in problem-solving
- Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient’s needs Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Performs general x-ray procedures when the patient-driven need arises (ROC/ etc).
- Responsible for independent and proficient operation of all assigned MR equipment including quality assurance activities and collaborating with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues or concerns.
- Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking, and logging of loaned films and requested outside films.
- Monitor patient's well-being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Responsible for accurately entering data, into all clinical computer systems i.e., Radiology Information System, Clinic-Station, Whiteboards, CARE, and modality imaging systems. Exam Charges, Billable Medical Supplies, CPT/Procedure Codes, Patient Demographics, etc.) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing, coding, national coverage decisions, ICD9/10 etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program, typically resulting in an associate's or bachelor's degree.
- Possession of valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent accrediting body.
- Licensure or certification as required by the state or region of practice.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and related imaging software.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate positioning, image quality, and patient safety.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt to changing circumstances during imaging procedures.
