OXOS Medical is constantly innovating, building on our best-in-class imaging device, and expanding into cloud-based imaging platforms, robotic guided imaging, intraoperative computed tomography, and telemedical solutions. OXOS Medical has raised $45M from prominent MedTech investors, venture capital firms, and renowned orthopedic surgeons.
OXOS is searching for an X-Ray Team Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our high-growth company. You will join a dynamic team of passionate people who work daily to change how radiographic diagnostics are delivered. To ensure high diagnostic value in a portable, safe package, OXOS is developing the smallest chest X-Ray device in the world. At OXOS, the X-Ray Engineering team is leading the charge in increasing power density at high voltages through the deployment of state-of-the-art topologies and advanced materials in order to achieve the optimal balance of size, weight, and thermal and electrical stability.
Responsibilities
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for exploring novel topologies for high voltage power conversion circuits and switching power supplies that deliver enhanced efficiency, while significantly reducing size and weight. This will require meticulous investigation, modeling, and prototyping of innovative design concepts that push the boundaries of what is currently possible in the field of Power Electronics.
As part of our team, your core duties will be, but are not limited to:
- Reporting on contemporary methods used to shrink low voltage power conversion through DC-DC converters and switching power supplies.
- Designing and simulating a prototype topology for a DC-DC converter with a step up from 30V to 400-1000V at 300-600W.
- Identifying efficient, stable operating paradigms for power conversion topologies through simulated and empirical data.
- Reporting on contemporary methods used to shrink low voltage power conversion through DC-DC converters and switching power supplies.
- Designing and simulating a prototype GAN-based topology for a high voltage DC-DC converter.
- Modeling and validating high frequency (500k - 2MHz) magnetic components.
- Reporting priorities for circuit design to enable stability of control systems.
- Designing and prototyping closed loop systems for voltage and current regulation across the topology, including intermediate and output voltages and tube current.
- Robustly testing control loop for stability, accounting for edge cases of environmental stress and natural component degradation.
- Using bench equipment to take measurements on existing hardware and create accurate SPICE or other simulator model.
- Building bench setups and program microcontrollers to drive power supply.
- Programing high-level scripts to run through test routines and automate data collection.
