POSITION SUMMARY: This position serves as a personal guide, and liaison for individuals with substance use disorders identified in the Emergency Department or in WVU Medicine affiliated treatment settings. The Recovery Coach supports patients by assisting them with identifying treatment needs, developing, maintaining, and monitoring individualized treatment plans, and supporting patients to remain in treatment. The Recovery Coach's duties include providing outreach, support, recovery check-ups on site in the Emergency Department, in treatment at CRC and in the community and functioning as part of a treatment team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification training with a minimum of 40 hours total in the following domains: Ethics, Advocacy, Mentoring/Education, and Recovery/Wellness Planning. If the certification obtained required fewer than 40 hours, documentation of additional Continuing Education Units (CEUs) earned can be provided to meet the training hour requirement prior to onboarding.
West Virginia state and Federal criminal background check required for DHHR WV CARES regulated area
Bureau of Medical Services Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification or WVCBAPP certification within one (1) year of employment.
