Church Description

Harbor Trinity is a Bible-based church that was established in Costa Mesa in 1955 and has faithfully been serving the local community ever since. HTC is known to be a welcoming church that consists of people of all ages. Together, they seek to help people find and follow Jesus and aim to implement this mission across all platforms of ministry.

Sunday morning worship consists of two service that averages about 150-200 adults, while the children’s and youth ministries average approximately 75 kids. The style of worship is contemporary and traditionally based and is a large part of the Sunday morning experience.

The leadership at HTC consists of men and women who love and care deeply for God and His bride. This team includes multiple pastors, directors and other paid staff who in turn manage a wide range of volunteers that meet the needs of the church and community throughout the week. Position Description

In an effort to be up front and transparent with you (the potential candidate), Harbor Trinity Church is in a season of succession as our senior pastor of 20 years is retiring. This means that some changes will essentially be made to the staff and/or their responsibilities. Because of this, we are presenting this position as a part-time position, but are leaving the potentiality of it turning into a full-time position depending on your skill set. Please let us know if you have additional skills and passions in other areas pertaining, but not limited to the following: graphic design, web design, communications, social media advertising, video production, etc.

HTC is looking for someone to share in the responsibilities related to leading worship. The new candidate will be an influential part of the church while working alongside both the senior and associate pastor, as well as the men and women who volunteer and serve in our worship community.

The Worship Leader:

• Will collaborate with both the senior and associate pastor and seek to develop a contemporary worship service that is God-honoring and culturally relevant.
• Will implement, evaluate, and improve things related to music, sound, video tech and creative arts throughout the week.
• Will provide engagement, clear communication, and spiritual leadership from the stage, drawing people into God’s presence through Sprit-led worship.
• Will assist in recruiting, auditioning, and/or developing volunteers into the worship team.
• Will assist in leading midweek rehearsal.
• Will assist in selecting and arranging music that both meets the needs of the congregation and affirms the central theme of the message or topic preached.
• Will assist in the scheduling and training of teams related to worship (band members, sound techs, av techs, announcement team, etc).

Position Qualifications

The Worship Leader is an ideal candidate if they:

• Are passionate about worship and bringing glory to Jesus.
• Are humble in heart and showcase spiritual maturity.
• Are musically gifted both vocally and instrumentally.
• Are a proven Worship Leader with experience in leading teams of musicians and vocalists.
• Are familiar with current contemporary songs sung collectively in the Church today.
• Are active in their relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by attitude, speech and behavior.
• Are in agreement with Harbor Trinity’s statements of faith.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
