Workforce Development Coordinator
The Workforce Development Coordinator is the primary contact for new and existing
students. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Workforce Development
Coordinator develops meaningful relationships with students along the student lifecycle
from prospect to employment. The Workforce Development Coordinator addresses
any issues impacting a student’s program experience inside and outside the
classroom to ensure high application-to-enrollment, enrollment-to-registration, and
placement rates.
Work is conducted from the employee’s home office (60%) and includes out-of-office work
during promotion events, in-person workshops, partner visits, school events, and more
(40%)
Essential Job Tasks:
- Maintain professional relationships with students through consistent contact, strong professional
- presence (virtually and in-person), active listening, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date notes/records within the enrollment
- management database (currently HubSpot SalesForce)
- Track applications and ensure all applicants schedule their admission interviews
- Conduct admission interviews, recommend candidates for admission, and administer admission processes for approved applicants
- Meet with admitted students and deliver orientation sessions and informational workshops on PLA University and its program tracks, both virtually and in-person
- Assist Executive Director in presenting career and professional skills workshops.
- Attend school and community events representing PLA University
- Monitor student enrollment drops and withdrawals to identify and formulate action plans
- Respond in an appropriate and timely manner to all student inquiries.
- Create and adhere to a student outreach schedule to interact with every assigned student at least once bi-weekly (from workshop completion throughout employment) and provide departmental reports on student interactions and outcomes.
- Assist the executive director in identifying Community Partners, training providers, and potential employers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN, or within a 40-mile radius. The candidate must be local as this position combines in-person and remote work.
DO YOU HAVE:
- At least two years of experience in higher education, career services, or workforce management. Other experiences may include student mentoring, conflict resolution, or student success initiatives.
- Intimate knowledge of the campus community
