Job Description
Responsible for the design, development, testing, support, and maintenance of Application Integrations supporting both clinical and business processes. Serves as liaison between business areas (Clinical, Administrative, Finance, Technology, etc.) to understand and provide feedback on complex functional requirements, identify gaps and technical limitations, propose, formalize, and document solutions in technical design documents.
Experience

  • 5+ years of direct experience gathering and documenting technical and nontechnical requirements and processes
  • 5+ years of analysis and specification development using process mapping, testing, and other tools/systems for analysis purposes

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday
  • 3+ years of interface and/or integration platform (e.g. Corepoint, Cloverleaf, Talend, etc.) experience
  • Experience with EHR systems (e.g. Epic, Cerner, AllScripts, etc.) and Healthcare Interoperability Standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR, etc.)

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Information Management, or equivalent technical training and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and requirements amongst technology peers, end users, executives, and vendor partners
  • Experience in technical writing and documentation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong technical ability to understand systems and system integrations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data integration concepts such as extraction, enrichment, transformation, consolidation, and error handling
  • Experience with data modeling, information management, and data flows
  • Ability to think organization-wide

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs Integration Analysis
  • Serves as liaison between various business and technical teams to complete tasks/initiatives.
  • Utilizes a variety of requirements gathering methods including interviews, JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions, surveys, brainstorming, storyboarding, prototyping/wire framing, and use cases.
  • Works with functional stakeholders, development teams, and technology vendors during design and implementation to shape the technical feature set
  • Participates in and sometimes leads user focus groups and requirements workshops, vendor training, and demonstrations.
  • Requirements Documentation.
  • Collects, manages, and interprets requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Clearly documents what the system will/should do and what the system is not intended to do.
  • Models the essential business workflows and data or technology needed to support those workflows utilizing use cases, flow charts, activity diagrams, swim lanes, etc.
  • Understands classification systems and languages in order to translate between systems.
  • Addresses details such as functional requirements, interface requirements, performance requirements, and design constraints/limitations.
  • Conducts peer reviews to ensure quality of documentation across the team.
  • Requirements Management and Validation.
  • Leads the prioritization of requirements to help manage overall project scope.
  • Provides work estimates to leaders and project managers as requested based on requirements gathered.
  • Manages requirement changes in cooperation with the PMO throughout design/build.
  • Develops necessary validation plans and scripts with the team.
  • Validates solution/build against requirements for completion.
  • Analyzes and ensures performance requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and documents interoperability problems and their probable causes; Identify root cause, test, and implement solutions.
  • Technical Best Practice Standards.
  • Understands and effectively follows technical guidelines and best practices for area of specialization.
  • Develops technical guidelines and best practices.
  • Provides recommendations for improving data flows and/or operational workflows.
  • Maintains knowledge of current industry best practice practices and trends.
