Wordpress Web Designer

We are seeking a talented and creative WordPress Web Designer to join our dynamic team in our Kalamazoo Office. Applicants must reside within 30 miles of Kalamazoo. As a WordPress Web Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing visually appealing and user-friendly websites using WordPress. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, proficiency in WordPress, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

WordPress Development:

- Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and optimal performance.

- Customize and enhance WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.

Graphic Design:

- Create visually appealing graphics, images, and other design elements to enhance website aesthetics.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop engaging visuals for promotional materials.

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design:

- Implement effective UX/UI design principles to enhance the overall user experience on websites.

- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to make informed design decisions.

Content Management:

- Manage and update website content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

- Train and assist content contributors in utilizing the WordPress CMS effectively.

SEO Integration:

- Implement on-page SEO best practices to enhance website visibility and search engine rankings.

- Optimize images, content, and metadata for improved search engine performance.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketers and content creators, to achieve project goals.

- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their design requirements and provide regular project updates.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

- Identify and resolve website issues, bugs, or discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups and updates, to ensure website security and functionality.

Stay Updated on Industry Trends:

Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web design and WordPress development.

Recommend and implement improvements based on evolving industry standards.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a WordPress Web Designer or similar role.

- Strong proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

- Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.

- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and best practices.

- Familiarity with SEO concepts and implementation.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Detail-oriented with a creative mindset.

Education and Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience in WordPress web design.
