About the Position The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of operating a collegiate volleyball program, including, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:
  • Coaching student-athletes at team practices, games and other events
  • Identification, recruitment, eligibility and retention of current and prospective student-athletes
  • Full compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Assist head coach in practice planning and macro/micro season planning
  • Public relations: Planning, coordination and execution of Alumni and fundraising events
  • Edit game film and & present to the team
  • Administrative duties vital to day to day operations of the program
  • Point person for summer volleyball camps
  • Effectively work with co-workers, university personnel and student-athletes of diverse backgrounds and identities

The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach will have and maintain a good working relationship with the following:

  • Compliance administrator: work within NCAA compliance regulations and assist in monitoring academic performance of student-athletes
  • Equipment Manager: Assist with floor set-up for game days and tournaments
  • Director of Athletic Communications: coordinate media relations, public relations, promotion and social media as it pertains to the volleyball program
  • Foundation liaison: work with foundation in coordinating alumni and fundraising events
  • Director of Athletic Marketing: point person for marketing and promotions for volleyball athletic competitions

This is a 12-month, full time position

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in coaching college, professional, elite youth club or 5 years high school head coaching
  • Ability to effectively coach student-athletes of diverse backgrounds and identities
  • First Aid and CPR certification or commitment to obtaining certification within 3 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commitment to holistic development of student-athlete
  • Familiarity with Pacific Northwest volleyball (e.g.: Puget Sound, Evergreen and Columbia Empire regions of USA Volleyball)
  • Experience playing competitive volleyball (e.g.: Elite youth, college, or professional)
  • Excellent professional and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3 years of college coaching experience
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Additional Information

Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment. Work visa sponsorship is not provided.

Also must pass annual recruiting exam/ coaching certification required by the NCAA.

Hiring range for position is $53,779 - $61,846/year.  Through longevity position tops out at $69,913/year.
