Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of her/her unit. Serves as liaison between staff and administrative personnel. The Nurse Manager establishes personnel qualification requirements, initiates in-service programs, installs record and reporting system, and performs other personnel management tasks.
What you will do in this role:
- You will monitor and direct utilization of resources related to patient care.
- You will plan and provide patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- You will provide leadership and direction to staff members.
- You will manage the physical environment of the patient care unit.
- You will demonstrate and promote professionalism at all times.
- You will monitor performance of staff assigned to unit and coach as appropriate.
- You will assist with planning and organizing the orientation of new employees
- You will complete payroll, attendance records and unit schedule as assigned.
- You will assure staff compliance/response to emergency situations/codes.
- You will collaborate with Director of Women's Services, physicians and hospital leadership to coordinate effective patient care.
- You will complete Plus/Stats daily.
- You will work with Director and Women's Services Educator to provide staff education on new/updated processes.
- You will provide staff with coaching/counseling if needed.
- You will assist with daily patient rounds.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure
- Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree is preferred
- 2 years Labor/Delivery experience preferred
- 2 years of Mother Baby experience preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role
- Computer Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- BLS & ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- CPI required and kept current per hospital requirements
- ACLS EP preferred
- Specialty certification preferred
- Neonate Resuscitate
- STABLE must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
