Accountability Objective
The Basketball Coach supervises the Women's Fall and Spring Basketball programs. The Head Coach will recruit and monitor academic programs and supervise student athletes in the Women's Basketball program. The Head Coach, in conjunction with the Athletic Director, is responsible for scheduling, promoting and fund raising for the Women's Basketball program.
The Fitness Center Co-Manager duties and responsibilities are consistent with the mission, vision, and goals of DACC and the Student Services Division. Primary responsibilities will focus on the daily operation of the DACC Fitness Center. Activities include, but are not limited to, working in the fitness center, supervision of staff in the Center, maintaining a professional and clean environment for fitness center users.
Required Qualifications
B.S./B.A. Degree in a related field; Successful experience coaching at the community college level. Experience with and mentoring young people; Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from varying levels of abilities, socio-economic backgrounds and ages; Ability to present information to small and large groups of students/prospective; students and parents; Ability to work a varied schedule; Working knowledge of computers and Internet resources
Desired Qualifications
M.S./M.A. Degree in related field; Experience in recreation or student activities; Work experience at the post-secondary education level; Working knowledge of DACC academic programs and services; Experience in registering and advising community college students

Maintain athletic records and scholarship lists.
Maintain athletic records required by the NJCAA.
Coordinate involvement of athletes with campus and community activities.
Supervise game day events and staffing as needed.
Assist with recruiting in area high schools as needed.
Mentor minority student athletes.
Maintain and organize contracts of athletic teams, officials, budget and NJCAA scholarship forms.
Coordinate compensation for all officials.
Coordinate summer camps for area elementary, middle, and high school students.
File and send student athlete grade reports.
Assist with banquets, area, regional and national tournaments.
Assist with departmental fundraising events.
Identify appropriate college and community resources to assist student athletes in overcoming obstacles to completing coursework.
Encourage student athletes to maintain their eligibility.
Assist with coordinating study sessions/tables for student athletes.
Create and maintain a database and follow up system for all student athletes transferring to a College or University.
Supervise the Women's Basketball program.
Supervise all practice sessions and games
Develop eligibility lists, complete travel requests, compose schedules ensuring that Officials are at all games and report on a timely basis.
Evaluate and recruit players as necessary.
Monitor academic progress of Women's Basketball team members.
Assist in preparing news releases and assist the Department in reporting to the news media results of Women's basketball games. Keep comprehensive stats to be turned into the NJCAA office at the end of the season.
Work cooperatively with the Athletic Director to ensure that the team members take advantage of alcohol and drug use/abuse education and awareness programs provided on campus.
Help promote Danville Area Community College and the Athletics by speaking to local civic and service organizations.
Report and monitor all student athlete injuries.
Communicate with the Athletic Director any issues or concerns with the program.
Essential Job Function
Fitness Center Co-Manager:
Assist the athletic department with managing the Fitness Center in an effective and successful manners.
Assist in the oversight of the facility to ensure hours of operation are covered.
Work in the Fitness Center for 10 hours per week.
Be available in the Mary Miller Complex for 10 hours per week.
Evaluate and monitor the usage of fitness center equipment and suggest center improvements
Ensure a safe environment in the fitness center following regulations for cleaning.
Assist students with class requirements as needed to increase student retention and graduation rates.
Suggest improvements and additional class offerings to meet the needs of students
Work with the athletic department to manage the budget and planning.
