JOB SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: The WIC Program is seeking a Nutritionist, Dietitian, or RN to provide nutrition education counseling, community referrals, and supplemental food benefits to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, postpartum women, infants, and children under five years of age.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Health Professional II (Clinic Manager)

1. Administer personnel policies and procedures; assist with clinic hiring process; train new employees; resolve conflicts; conduct performance appraisals; oversee scheduler and adjust as necessary; arrange for subs as needed
2. Ensure staff deliver excellent customer service
3. Quality Assurance monitoring
   1. Direct clinic staff observation quarterly
   2. Random INWIC note review quarterly
4. Clinic inventory
   1. Ensure office supply order submitted on a monthly basis
   2. Maintain clinic equipment/computer inventory
5. Communicate necessary updates with clinic staff and monitor implementation of policy/procedural changes
6. Maintenance of Daily Log, Ineligible File, and Unusable WIC EBT File
7. Monitor and enforce agency Universal Precautions policy
8. Outreach
   1. Ensure agency representation at pertinent community meetings
   2. Ongoing communication with local health care providers
9. Periodic vendor visits as needed
10. Maintain daily cleaning logs and temperature logs
11. Update Community Resource and Referral contact information
12. Ensure voter registration forms are mailed weekly, voice mail messages are current

Breastfeeding Promotion Duties

1. Ensure pumps are cleaned, stored, and updated on inventory
2. Maintain orderly breastfeeding room
3. Conduct breastfeeding supply inventory and submit needs on a monthly basis
4. Breast Pump log maintenance/tracking

EDUCATION: Must possess of one of the following licensures/degrees:

• Registered Dietitian
• Registered Nurse
• Or a Bachelor Degree in one of the following areas:
  • Dietetics
  • Nutrition/Nutrition Sciences
  • Public Health Nutrition
  • Community Nutrition
  • Clinical Nutrition
  • Family and Consumer Sciences
  • Foods and Nutrition in Business
  • Nutrition, Fitness, and Health

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Flexibility with schedule and duties
• Effective written and spoken communication skills
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills desired
