Global Facilities, Engineering and Construction (FEC) is hiring a Program Manager to lead the WHS FEC Strategy team. This role will own measuring, reporting and improving on the heath and safety of over 1.2 million operations employees across Amazon. The WHS strategy team works across Amazon to develop cohesive strategies and share executive reporting on our health and safety performance as a company. WHS is looking for a strategic thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational ability to fill this position.
A strong candidate should have experience and interest in:
1. Being a key leader in improving health and safety at Amazon.
2. Leading large, cross-functional planning and strategy workstreams.
3. Thinking big about operational strategies and regularly presenting to Sr. Leaders, Directors and VP level leaders. This leader will own multiple monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews with leadership covering strategic level topics.
4. Improving internal practices for sharing and visualizing data.
5. Driving execution to published plans across multiple business groups.
6. Managing planning calendars.
Responsibilities include developing 1-5 year plans for WHS, publishing strategic planning documents including OP plans, and partnering with operations, engineering, and tech teams to refine and prioritize healthy and safety within their strategic plans.
Key job responsibilities
Organizes and compiles our strategic planning reports across the WHS stakeholder group and ensuring consistency in safety data and narrative across Amazon.
Interfaces with field WHS teams, central WHS teams, and Operations groups that want to align on safety planning.
Gathers and organizes inputs on safety from across our company and ensuring consistent approach across the entire WHS team.
Insists on the highest standards by ensuring data and content continuity amongst leadership documents, dashboards, and safety communications.
Dives deep by regularly reviewing metrics and proactively seeking out new and improved data/mechanisms.
Owns the continuous improvement to safety metric reporting and document development.
Is right a lot and thinks critically through problems to devise an action plan, and advise senior leaders with ease.
Emphasizes the importance of concise and effective written communication.
Is always data driven.
Operates in a hybrid work environment working from the office a minimum of three days per week and may travel 10-20% of the time.
About the team
The FEC Safety Strategy team builds and manages mechanisms for WHS to compile, create, and refine our strategies and strategic planning and reporting documents that represent WHS at the highest levels of leadership. We are the PM group that owns nine different WHS technical teams. We are a highly visible team and a trusted central point of contact for a large number of Sr. Leaders and stakeholders globally.
