JOB TITLE Wellness Coordinator - Lead Advocate

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wellness Coordinator will work with the Healing House Program Manager to coordinate all job training, life skills training, and cultural healing activities of the Healing House in the Alternative to Incarceration Facility. They will schedule sessions for both life skills therapy and learning activities, recruit wellness participants and instructors, and be responsible for documenting all activities related to the wellness and life skills training program. They will oversee, with direction from Program Manager, the Healing House Resident Advocates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise Resident Advocates on day-to-day programming, and work schedules.
- Maintain Resident Advocates training at a high level to support program participants.
- Identify life skills and cultural healing instructors for training/cultural activities as mentioned in the grant.
- Schedule sessions for Cultural Healing and life skills activities.
- Schedule sessions for vocational therapy in the areas of mental skills, social/communication, job-related key qualifications and personality related abilities.
- Train participants to be providers for life skills/vocational activities
- Responsible for the documentation of all activities related to the vocational therapy/life skills program.
- Participation in monthly SAMHSA check-in meetings.
- Develop therapy vocational plans for participants.
- Provide updates to staff and Directors on program progress.
- Other duties as identified by the program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D;
- At least 1 year Experience working on grant deliverables and activities.
- At least 1 year experience coordinating training activities and completing contracting requirements, preferably for tribal governments.
- At least 1 year experience in supervising staff.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent writing and speaking ability to be able to recruit training participants and instructors.
- Strong skills in grant report writing;
- Knowledge of Life skills training curriculums
- Knowledge of the Hualapai Tribe's cultural traditions.
- Knowledge in grant management and reporting requirements;
- Knowledge of confidentiality law;
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating System (Word, Excel) and other databases and computer programs used by Health Education and Wellness;
- Skills in operating modern general office equipment (computer, fax machine, copier, etc.);
OTHER:
- Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Must be a dependable person with a positive attitude;
- Must pass a background check;
- Must obtain background clearance Level 1 card.
- Must have a valid driver license and be able to be eligible for Tribe's insurance;
- Submit to and pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening;
- Willingness to collaborate with tribal departments, Wellness Team and Hualapai Culture consultants to develop well-rounded trainings and cultural healing activities for clientele;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of completing contract paperwork for life skills and cultural instructors;
- Peer Support Certification for alcohol and substance abuse;
- At least 3 years working experience with Native communities.
- Ability to speak the Hualapai Language.
