This position is in the Employee Health area within the Office of Human Resources. The Wellness Coordinator will provide leadership for a comprehensive wellness program for the agency.

Leads a comprehensive wellness program and coordinates regular wellness committee meetings for the agency.

Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for employees.

Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles.

Develops promotion and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization.

Compiles statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation.

Assists the Employee Health Nurse Consultant in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.

Provides educational presentations and training programs.

This position is primarily remote but will require in person attendance at some events and meetings. The candidate must provide their own internet connection and means of communication while working remotely.


State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: A bachelor's degree in health education, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employee may be required to interact with clients, customers, and staff who are emotionally upset, angry, or distraught. In such interactions, employee must be able to maintain control, decorum, and professionalism.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud on occasion.

A Master's degree and two or more years of experience in wellness program development preferred.

Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect.

Knowledge of planning, coordinating, and conducting a diversified wellness program.

Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidential documents and information.

Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines.

Must have a strong desire for physical and mental fitness.


DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
