Job Description
We are looking to add a member of the manufacturing team providing technical expertise to prepare, clean, fabricate and
weld various parts for production with supervision to ensure the satisfaction of our customers!
The hours for this role are 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM Monday through Friday - Four-day work week!
All employees working the Second Shift hours will also receive a paid 30-minute lunch break as well as a 10% shift premium!
The work environment is in a well-lit and climate-controlled shop - air conditioning in the summer South Carolina heat!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and understand specific daily job assignments, work priorities and work instruction
- Prepare and clean parts using various methods including: air, water, sandblasting, etc
- Receive, check and verify sub-parts needed for job work order(s); fix/resolve discrepancies
- Fabricate/weld various parts correctly using job build list, drawings, specifications and procedures
- Check and inspect work at in-process and final check points as per documented weld procedures
- Input all build data and accurately voucher time and materials into manufacturing software system
- Meet and sustain established quality and production volume performance criteria
- Organize, clean and maintain work area, tools, equipment, etc. daily in a safe and secure manner
- Establish and maintain effective, positive and professional communication with all co-workers
SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:
Weld Cleaning and Preparation
Follow specific written and oral instruction for cleaning and prepping of weld materials.
- Receive and verify parts and raw material; machine, prepare and clean items as needed.
- Set-up manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and workstation(s) as needed.
- Detect, repair and/or notify supervisor of faulty equipment operation and of defective materials.
- Participate in training Class C welders on various elements of welding cleaning and preparation
Welding
Follow specific written and oral instruction for welding and in-process inspection of work.
- Weld components in flat, vertical and/or overhand positions to produce consistent quality welds.
- Visually examine and inspect work in-process for conformance as required - i.e. fillet gages.
- Monitor welding process to avoid overheating of parts to prevent warping, shrinking or expansion.
- Adjust settings and controls of equipment and/or position and movement of fixtures as needed.
- Make recommendations for improvements to: process, procedure, quality and safety.
ISO Quality Assurance
Follow specific written and oral instruction for quality workmanship and process conformance
- Clean, deburr and inspect all features of the part or assembly before signing off work
- Record, verify and review results for product requirement and/or conformance
- Enter all data as required on job paperwork and in electronic manufacturing system as required.
- Determine and confer anticipated completion of assigned task to Supervisor.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, clean and organize workstation, replenish supplies

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
Must be able to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner
Must be able to read, write and speak in English language and be understood
Must be able to interact diplomatically with people - both in person and on the telephone
Must be able to read, interpret and understand prints, drawings, routers and process specifications
Must be able to receive and understand training by various methods: written, on-the-job, computer, etc.
Must be able to weld product correctly and be able to recognize and fix mistakes
Must be able to regularly and consistently meet production and quality performance metrics
Must be able to understand and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects
Must be able to work independently and make good, sound and timely decisions
Must be able to learn and accurately use company computer software programs
Must be able to understand and fully support the company Mission, Safety and Quality policies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must possess and be able to produce a verifiable High School Diploma / GED
3-5 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing and/or production welding environment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Preferred: Accredited Welder Certificate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function
adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met including depth and color.
Must be able to twist, turn, bend and reach freely without pain or discomfort; to stand and/or sit
daily and continuously for 2-4 hours without break/rest; to have sufficient dexterity in both hands
and arms to perform routine grasping and use of parts, hand tools and equipment/machine
operating buttons, handles and levers including torch, arc and resistance welding components
Must be able to safely operate material handling and assembly equipment including powered
industrial trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes; electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic-powered tools
Physical activity includes: sitting, walking, standing, holding, grasping and using hand tools -
approximately 85% of time; bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to forty
pounds unassisted approximately 15% of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job activities are performed in a lighted and ventilated factory environment. One will be exposed to
changes in ambient temperature, noise and dust without abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable
