WELDING IS A VALUED DEPARTMENT

The Welding Department makes various brace and support parts for POLYWOOD furniture. We weld several different styles of aluminum chaise lounge braces as well as aluminum table supports and brackets. In addition, we MIG weld steel grids that support POLYWOOD tables. Most of our aluminum welding is TIG welding, but we do MIG weld aluminum as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Perform TIG welding on a daily basis
• Reviews blueprints, work instructions, and job specifications to determine appropriate materials, tools, and procedures needed to complete processes
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum and stainless steel
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding

• 
  Must be able to work from blueprints, work orders, specifications, and verbal direction Knowledge and ability in TIG welding process
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in welding, grinding, assembly, and fitting Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds Must be able to work in shifts 8-10 hours long, where you are regularly required to stand, walk, and use basic sensory functions
• Candidate must pass weld test
