As such, Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy, requiring COVID-19 Vaccination(s) for all employees and new hires. In accordance with our mission to compassionately serve every resident with quality care and excellence, we firmly believe that vaccinating all employees is essential for our residents safety and health. New hires, including rehires, will need to show proof of full vaccination on or before start of employment or receive their first dose or one dose vaccine prior to start date. Candidates who wish to request an exemption from being required to be vaccinated must submit, and have approved, a Heritage Pointe Communities religious or medical exemption prior to start date.
- Must be a graduate of a state approved school of nursing and carry a current State of Indiana nursing license.
- Must be willing and able to assume charge of personnel.
- Must be able to use good critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Check schedule and make sure everyone is accounted for.
- Make changes to the schedule to benefit the flow of the units.
- Make rounds often to check on the staff and assist with problems on the units.
- Answer the call system in residential and check on those residents in need.
- Assist the staff in assessing those residents who are having complications, and provide proper care.
- Assist in covering the schedule when call-ins occur.
- Check on staff to make sure break times are being followed.
- Assist staff in settling conflicts.
- Monitor staff to make sure the smoking policy is being followed.
- Order medications for residents from appropriate pharmacies.
