Weekend Dispatcher

Position Overview: The Weekend Dispatcher will be part of a growing team that is focused on driving the long-term growth of our business. You will work closely with fellow team members and interface directly with customers and drivers to ensure timely delivery according to contract requirements.

Schedule: Saturday - Sunday | 6 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday - Monday | 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. (1 hour lunch) 4 days.

Responsibilities:

• Review & follow driver managers notes & direction for after hours planning.
• Ensure on time pick ups are met & drivers are tracked.
• Update customers on pick up / delivery delays of any sort.
• Answer a high volume of phone calls and emails.
• With driver managers direction, work on load recovery plans.
• Handle accidents / call offs / breakdowns etc. with assistance from the appropriate team members.

Qualifications:

• Experience within the transportation industry (certainly not necessary)
• Balance between verbal and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to conceptualize big picture ideas, attention to detail, and skill in multitasking.
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office products, email, etc.)
• Analytical thinking with a good sense of urgency.
• Communication with company employees, customer, and vendors.
• Preferred educations: Bachelors Degree.
