Job description

Tipton & Hurst is a third-generation family-owned florist and specialty home & gift retailer headquartered in Little Rock, AR. We have five retail locations in the greater Central Arkansas area.

We are seeking a Wedding & Events Coordinator.

The Wedding & Events Coordinator will assist in the organization, planning and execution of a large number of weddings, meetings, conferences, and Events throughout the year. We’re looking for a highly skilled event coordinator who can help make these gatherings consistently efficient, cost-effective, and memorable. The W&E Coordinator is a goal-oriented creative that can communicate the quality and value of the products and services we offer and have the ability to build business by sales initiatives and cultivating repeat business and referrals. This position is expected to join the team in accomplishing all sales goals while staying relevant and competitive in today’s Wedding and event market.


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in responses to inquiries, schedule consultations, and create proposals based on the clients personalized vision in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a pipeline of inquiries and prospects, while also taking a proactive approach to finding new business to meet or exceed goals.
  • Assist with execution, installation and take down of events as needed.
  • Assist in set ups/warehouse pulling of props.
  • Assist with contracts, deposits and final payment of events including account reconciliations after events according to company policy.
  • Review floral selections with flower buyer, design, and Production Manager to ensure are florals and hardgoods are ordered and received on time.
  • Follows up with client to receive feedback, ensure satisfaction or addresses concerns.
  • Build relationships with vendors and network with others in the wedding/event industry.
  • Research and keep up with the trends evolving in the wedding industry to ensure a competitive advantage.
  • Interacts in a positive, cooperative, and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in a team environment.
  • Floral knowledge and experience is desired

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be knowledgeable with color and design and have an eye for creativity. Event Floral Design experience is preferred.
  • Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, as needed based on event schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Preferred background in Event, Restaurant, Hotel or Entertainment Industry
  • Must be knowledgeable with color and design and have an eye for creativity. Knowledge in florals is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to bend, sit, walk and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
