Position Title:Website Administrator
Reports to: Vice President for Marketing
Primary function: This position will assume primary ownership of the College?s web properties, including its website (stvincent.edu), Magazine website (1846.stvincent.edu), internal portal, and other key digital platforms. The position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting these platforms in alignment with the College's key messages, marketing, recruiting, and branding efforts. Primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring accurate information, enhancing user experience for key audiences, and maintaining effective ongoing search engine optimization.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience in website development and administration.
Experience:
- Minimum of one to three years of experience in web development, website administration, or a related field, which may include internships
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other website technologies
- Proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS) software. Experience in Cascade, Squarespace, and Microsoft SharePoint is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
- Knowledge of both technical and content-based SEO
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with marketing and communications a plus
- Ability to support the mission of Saint Vincent College and to respect the basic teachings of the Catholic, Benedictine tradition, as well as the creeds of other groups respected on campus.
Essential Duties:
- Monitor and maintain the Saint Vincent College website and other web properties daily, troubleshooting issues in a timely manner.
- Create and oversee a plan to maintain and improve the accuracy and relevance of all website content.
- Plan, execute, and assess optimization of the College website as a key student recruitment and audience engagement channel.
- Align the College website and other key web properties with the College?s mission as well as central marketing, branding, and communications initiatives.
- Implement SEO best practices to maximize the College?s digital exposure.
- Execute regular reporting based on key website analytics to assess and improve website performance over time.
- Work with key campus stakeholders on website updates for their areas.
Other Duties:
- Train staff and faculty to use web technologies on campus, when necessary.
- Collaborate with external partners on technical, content, analytics, and SEO website functions.
- Assist other Marketing and Communications staff with non-website related marketing tasks as needed. Examples may include copywriting and editing, graphic design, visual content production, and other areas in line with the individual?s skillset.
Special Challenges and Environment:
Performs in a high-volume office environment requiring quick response to urgent web content changes, troubleshooting issues, story ideas, external requests, and more while still keeping a strategic overview of the College?s digital presence. Must include an ability to manage multiple deadline-oriented projects and priorities concurrently. Work performed in this position is highly visible and requires frequent public contact.
10% local/regional travel is required.
