Web Developer - Advertising Agency

Pathfinders, a full-service integrated marketing agency, is seeking a motivated and hands-on front-end Web Developer to join our development team. This is a full-time, permanent position and is 100% remote eligible with occasional travel requirements. A Web Developer at Pathfinders bridges the gap between the design and technical implementation of digital products, taking an active role in defining how a product looks as well as how it functions, utilizing current best practices to ensure quality outputs.

You should be a problem-solver ready to tackle the day-to-day challenges all modern Web Developers face. You are well versed in best practices for the web and share your knowledge with others. You love working in teams; collaborating with other developers, creatives, account executives and strategists. What you will do, in greater detail:

• Research, design, and implement technical specifications for projects based on user requirements as indicated in the scope of work
• Collaborate with Digital Channel team members, other internal teams, and clients to produce digital products that adhere to designs and are responsive and accessible. Overnight/weekend travel will be required for certain agency events
• Work with other teams to define and develop new user-facing elements that drive quality UX experiences, while reaching strategic client goals
• Drive the front-end development process for efficiency and effectiveness
• Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Serve as a resource for the escalation of user, application and development issues, working to help provide resolution to customers’ critical issues
• Provide insight on UI designs based on analytics, usability, and digital best practices
• Ensure that digital products are optimized for various devices and browsers
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Develop websites, emails, and interface designs that utilize current HTML/CSS best practices
• Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation including logs
• Provide technical recommendations and insight to internal teams and external clients
• Facilitate/create technical training on digital product use
• Research and maintain a library of UI components and features

What we’d like to see in a strong candidate:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or related field
• 3-5+ years of web development experience
• Experience in delivering creative, problem solving UI designs
• Demonstrated success in presenting strategic solutions and POVs that engage consumers and build brands
• Deep expertise of HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and cross-browser compatibility
• Knowledge of server architecture
• Proven proficiency in Wordpress website and component development
• Strong history of website management
• Experience with server-side frameworks such as python, ruby, php, Java, ASP, ASP.NET
• Understanding of database systems such as SQL and Oracle
• Thorough functional knowledge and coding experience
• Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
• Ability to multitask with strict time constraints, budgets and business goals
• Strong communication skills
• Curious about people, behaviors and ideas
• Ability to analyze testing results, interpret data, and develop insightful and actionable recommendations
• Understanding of the digital creative process / associated deliverables, and be able to effectively communicate to internal stakeholders and clients
• Applied experience with design tools (Adobe creative suite, etc)
• Applied experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma, InVision, etc.)
• Ability to clearly articulate and simplify advanced, technical concepts, drive innovation and the Agency’s values
• Applied experience with analytic tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hot Jar, etc.)
• Ability to think strategically and fully evaluate solutions to problems
• Knowledge of and experience with compliance regarding international legislation & standards: ADA, WCAG 2.1, Section 508, etc.
