Web Developer/Designer
Duties:
Web Development & Design
- Designs and maintains the center web site including both internet and intranet, utilizing current technology in IIS, Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Classic ASP, JavaScript, and Ajax to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the web presentations of center information.
- Writes code to specifications. Documents work. Develops custom reports. Prepares flow charts. Performs routine testing.
- Develops web based applications including the appropriate database structure using database access methods and client server techniques.
- Designs, modifies, adapts, and enhances existing software to correct errors, allow adaptation to new hardware, or to improve performance of the software.
- Assists with training end users and information technology staff.
- Will manage multimedia assets such as streaming video, flash video, animations, and modules.
- Serve as backup for Section 508 Compliance scanning for Internet and Intranet pages and documents.
- Will assist lead in template management, document and web page review and statistical analysis of web data.
Web Developer/Designer Activities:
- IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new IT-related methods, approaches, and procedures
- Web Design, Language, and Development tools to include Adobe CS5 Design Premium (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash Professional, Flash Catalyst, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, and Acrobat Professional), CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, Eclipse, PHP, AJAX, XML, Action Script 3, and classic ASP.
- Working knowledge of web analytics measurements and interpretation of data required with 4 to 5 years experience in statistical collection and analysis.
- Applications software development concepts and techniques, methods for integrating and optimizing components, infrastructure requirements, and database management features sufficient to 1) provide technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs; 2) translating and interpreting functional requirements; 3) applying computer assisted software engineering tools to the design and development process; and 4) provide guidance to less experienced coworkers in solving programming problems.
- Review, analyzes, determines, and articulates, both orally and in writing, positive and negative impacts of changing project and strategic requirements on acquisition management policies and procedures
