Here is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door as a state worker! This position as an On-Call Custodian 1 may be your big chance! Only one (1) position is currently available, so we encourage to apply early!

Position(s) at this location will also receive 5% Premium Pay for facilities open twenty four hours per day. Employees must physically work at the facility 3 days per workweek to qualify. The 5% Premium Pay is in effect until June 29th, 2025.

*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.
As the Custodian 1, your attention to detail through proper cleaning measures will be critical in enhancing the appearance of our facility while providing comfort to our residents. If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, apply today!

Some of what you'll be doing:

• Cleaning assigned areas, resident rooms, common areas, and office spaces.
• Vacuuming and extracting carpets as needed.
• Mopping, disinfecting and waxing floors; sweeping and mopping stairwells.
• Emptying trash and performing a variety of housekeeping tasks.
• Maintaining clean and sanitary restrooms; ensuring supplies are adequately stocked.
• Cleaning and shampooing upholstered furniture.
• Maintaining lobby area floors and carpets
• Maintaining custodial carts, closets, and equipment rooms; restocking with supplies and equipment.
• Sanitizing tabletops after each meal.

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds.

Preferred/Desired:

• Experience preferred in housekeeping, janitorial, building maintenance, or custodial work in a healthcare facility, hospital, or nursing home.
• Valid State driver license.

• Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards.
