Keytronic, Oakdale, MN facility is seeking a Wave Solder Operator who would operate the Wave Solder machine to produce soldered through-hole printed circuit boards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

  • Add solder and flux to the machine and monitor levels to ensure proper solder connections are made.
  • Position boards in machine rails with or without wave pallets and board stiffeners per documented procedures.
  • Inspect completed boards per IPC workmanship solder standards.
  • Position completed boards and pallets into wash machines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machine, such as cleaning away oxidized solder.
  • Measure and adjust flux density as scheduled.
  • Move finished boards to next station per assembly router.

SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

Is supervised by the Director of Operations and Production Supervisor and has no direct supervisory responsibility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced, time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building and production floor. Effectively communicate orally and written.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications
  • A high school education or equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Successful completion of ESD Safety training and IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
  • Ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with components and to highlight/communicate those problems to Team Leader.
  • Good vision, hand coordination and manual dexterity are required.
  • Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to read and understand work routers, bill of materials, assembly drawings, component identification, and component polarity.
  • Basic PC Knowledge.
