The successful candidate will work in Florida and provide civil engineering analysis and design on a variety of federal, municipal, commercial, and private development projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, active transportation projects, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, retaining walls, bridges, and related ancillary structures. Experience in Low Impact Development (LID) techniques is a plus. The ideal candidate will be ready to be a part of and grow with a team. Mentoring of more junior staff is expected, along with a desire to learn and grow from more senior engineers and project managers.
Your Role
- Serve as a design engineer on a wide variety of municipal civil, stormwater, and Water/Wastewater projects.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documents.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
- Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings and recommend and document design modifications.
- Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff engineers.
- Provide construction support services (field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, RFIs).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida (PE).
- 4-8 years of experience with municipal civil, stormwater, and/or Water/Wastewater system design.
- Interest in business development.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills; Active membership and participation in relevant professional associations is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project.
