High growth, national company currently seeking a Water Treatment Technician (part time) for our commercial Water Treatment business. The Water Treatment technician is responsible for activities to help ensure treatment of water for community water systems while meeting regulations and customer satisfaction. Areas of responsibility include Water Treatment monitoring, water sample drawing/testing, regulatory compliance, and system maintenance. Work requires experience in field analysis and knowledge of chemical treatment systems and certified as a T2 operator in the state of Maryland. We offer a solution that protects and extends the life of the plumbing infrastructure for multi-family properties. This position reports to the Senior Technician and General Manager. Essential Functions
- Operate and maintain Water Treatment equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulations
- Monitor and adjust chemical dosages to maintain water quality standards
- Collect and analyze water samples to assess treatment effectiveness
- Conducts technical analysis of system treatment and operational data to improve treatment levels.
- Conducts computational work to analyze historical and current data, including trending and forecasting analysis using spreadsheet and database tools
- Conducts routine services and minor repair to maintain all monitoring equipment in good operational condition. Participates in trainings, exercises, and workshops. Routinely reports to Manager on the operational status of the monitoring systems
- Responsibility for various systems installed throughout the DC/MD/VA market
Other Functions
- Develops Internal Operating Procedures for water quality operation and trains other staff
- Assists in achieving compliance with new regulations that may affect the Water Treatment systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Assessment of new Water Treatment locations and installation and maintenance of those systems
Work Environment And Physical Demands
Worked is performed in various boiler or mechanical rooms throughout the DC/MD/VA market. Some work may be done in home office or warehouse in Alexandria, VA.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of treatment processes, water distribution system, and water quality monitoring
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing water quality and environmental compliance
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Ability to perform equipment repair and construction tasks as necessary
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Skill in operation of analytical instrumentation, logic controllers, distribution control systems and including routine maintenance and minor repairs; ability to coordinate with service contractors
- Ability to interact with customers in an effective and professional manner; ability to deliver superior customer service
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
- Ability to accurately perform chemical tests
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time in order to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious and effective working relationships
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
- Active T2 certified water operator designation in the state of Maryland
- 3+ years Water Treatment/distribution system operation experience
- Include Maryland certified water operator number in application

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
