We are currently seeking talented and motivated engineers to join our team in any of our five northern California Offices. The ideal candidate for each position is described below but will meet the minimum requirements and have some or all of the desirable skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency in Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modeling software such as Infoworks ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, XPSWMM, Flo2d, Infowater, and WaterCAD
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with project management and client interactions
- Understanding of regulatory requirements associated with Water Resources projects
Junior Engineer: A junior engineer will have 0 to 2 years of experience in the Water Resources engineering field. Though experience is not a requirement, a strong preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated Water Resources coursework and training/exposure to software used daily in our practice. As a junior engineer at Schaaf & Wheeler you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers and gain hands-on experience in a variety of aspects of Water Resources Engineering. An EIT certificate is required for this role.
Compensation: This full-time position has a non-exempt pay range of $37.00 to $42.00 per hour.*
Assistant Engineer: An assistant engineer will have 1 to 3 years of experience in the Water Resources engineering field. This role offers a chance to take on more responsibilities and play an increased role in engineering analysis and design. You will work closely with project teams to develop engineering solutions, perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, and contribute to the development of design documents. An EIT certificate is required for this role.
Compensation: This full-time position has a non-exempt pay range of $41.00 to $48.00 per hour.*
Associate Engineer: An associate engineer will have 2 to 7 years of experience in the Water Resources engineering field. This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license. The associate engineer will play a pivotal role in project success and will support many technical aspects of various projects. You’ll work closely with senior staff and may perform project management where appropriate.
Compensation: This full-time position has a non-exempt pay range of $46.00 to $65.00 per hour.*
Senior Engineer: A senior engineer will have 7 to 15 years of experience in the Water Resources engineering field. This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a proven track record in Water Resources Engineering. You will lead the analysis and/or design of complex Water Resources projects, provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, and cultivate client relationships. This role involves project management, business development, and the ability to lead a diverse team of in-house engineers as well as specialty sub-consultants.
Compensation: This full-time position has an exempt pay range of $4,807.69 to $6,730.77 per pay period (which is equivalent to $125,000 to $175,000 annually).
