Under coordination provided by the Lead Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, performs the routine, as well as the non-routine, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and repair work and technical work related to the operation of the County's Wastewater Treatment Plants and sewage pump lift stations, and other related collection system components located in Clallam Bay and Sekiu Washington. Operator-In-Training position flexes to Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I (range 54) upon obtaining a Level I operator certificate and one year of successful experience.
NOTE: Employee must be able to respond to the Clallam Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant within 30 minutes.
Education/Training
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior experience and/or training preferred.
Experience
Prior experience in Maintenance Work is desirable.
Additional Certifications
No experience required to become an Operator-In-Training; however, to become an Operator I, requires one (1) year of experience in a Treatment Plant, a Washington State Level I Operator's Certificate and supervisor approval along with satisfactory or better work performance. Maintain certification continuing education units (CEU's).
