We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Material Handler to join our warehouse team. As a Material Handler, your primary responsibility will be to efficiently and safely handle the movement and storage of materials within the warehouse using a forklift. Please note that this position will require spending a significant portion of the workday in a refrigerated or freezer environment while performing various warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse. This includes raw materials, finished products, and other supplies as needed.
- Semi-Trailer Spotting: Material handlers may also be called upon to spot, drop, and hook-up semi-trailers as part of the loading/unloading process.
- Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders or packing lists. Accurately record material movements and maintain inventory control through proper documentation.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in order processing.
- Warehouse Organization: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from potential hazards. Maintain proper storage of materials to optimize space and facilitate efficient retrieval.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift and performing warehouse tasks. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of the forklift and other warehouse equipment. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse team members to facilitate smooth workflow and achieve daily production goals.
- Supervision: The Material Handler will be supervised by a Warehouse Foreman, who will provide guidance and support.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Material Handler in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating a forklift experience or other heavy machinery.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory management software (preferred).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety guidelines and willingness to prioritize safety at all times.
- Ability to work in extremely cold environments, such as refrigerated or freezer areas, for extended periods during the workday.
