Summary
The Warehouse Unloader position is responsible for ensuring the efficient unloading and handling of goods upon arrival. This includes unloading shipments, organizing items within the warehouse, and maintaining an organized inventory. The Warehouse Unloader is a key player in the initial stages of the warehouse workflow, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Additionally, the position includes the task of adhering to strict safety protocols, conducting regular equipment inspections, and promptly addressing any issues to maintain a secure working environment.
Description
- Safely unload inbound shipments and transfer products to designated storage locations
- Organize and stack merchandise efficiently in the appropriate areas
- Verify the accuracy and condition of both inbound and outbound shipments, promptly reporting any discrepancies in quality; maintain a keen eye on quality standards.
- Retrieve and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the precise quantity and type of items are loaded and dispatched; execute picking tasks in a manner that aligns with customer service standards.
- Move products with efficiency from staging or storage areas into rail cars or trailers; streamline the loading process for swift and organized shipment.
- Utilize picker/forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials. Employ radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and loading tasks as needed.
- Keep the facility's equipment and materials in a tidy and orderly condition, conducting daily inspections and performing minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment
- Operate all machinery in adherence to prescribed work methods, prioritizing safety and efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or related field preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Physical Requirements
- The Warehouse is not temperature regulated and can be noisy and busy
- Walk up to 10k steps per day
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
- Ability to climb stairs
