Form of workH&C Animal Health is opening a brand new warehouse in Louisville, KY! We are looking for a Team Lead to support the day-to-day operations. H&C Animal Health was founded in 2013 by pet industry veteran, Chuck Latham, founder of Chuck Latham Associates, Inc. after identifying a need to make effective pet healthcare products affordable and accessible. As aWarehouse Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and supporting a team of warehouse associates to ensure efficient and accurate fulfillment of orders, proper inventory management, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Your leadership, organizational skills, and ability to motivate and coach team members will be essential in driving productivity and maintaining a positive work environment within the warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Support in leadership and coordinate the activities of warehouse associates, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, and monitoring performance to ensure the timely and accurate completion of work.
- Plan and prioritize daily workload to meet order fulfillment targets and operational objectives, adjusting staffing levels and task assignments as needed to optimize efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, storing, and picking merchandise, to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all outgoing shipments meet company standards for accuracy, condition, and presentation.
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a safe work environment for all warehouse personnel, including proper operation of equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, and on-time delivery, and take corrective action as needed to address areas of improvement.
- Address issues and concerns raised by team members, customers, or other stakeholders, and work proactively to resolve operational challenges and prevent recurrence.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to warehouse associates to enhance their skills and performance, and support their career development within the organization.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and operational changes.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the warehouse operation, and collaborate with management to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor team members to achieve high performance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software applications for inventory control and order management.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations, including experience conducting safety training and enforcing compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing issues and implementing solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis and the ability to stand and move about the warehouse for extended periods
