Warehouse Team Lead - 1St Shift

We are looking for Team Leaders to help launch and achieve operational excellence at our new warehousing operations within our OEM client's facility. Team Leaders will oversee the activities and personnel in their area of responsibility to safely meet daily demands, using standard processes.

Most of the workforce will be powered industrial truck operators (e.g., forklift, reach, cherry picker, tugger, standup). The primary product will be batteries for new electric vehicles in bulk, case, and individual quantities.

This will be an M-F day shift role, with potential for occasional weekend or overtime work. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Warehouse Team Leader

• Manage the daily work of your team and work performance.
• Monitor process, personnel and other resources to maintain throughput.
• Responsible for meeting the production schedule and standards, safely.
• Maintain records and documentation, and report relevant information.
• Be a visible and active presence on the floor.
• Ensure all processes and rules are followed.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of work.
• Anticipate, research and solve problems throughout the shift.
• Promote a safe work environment and use of 6S.
• Train, retrain and cross-train employees.
• Coach or discipline team members as needed.
• Ensure effective communication and handoffs with other teams.
• Approve time and time away from work to ensure adequate coverage.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and used properly.
• Operate PIT or complete other work if needed to fill gaps and safely meet demand.

QUALIFICATIONS -Warehouse Team Leader

• Manage the daily work of your team and work performance
• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience in warehousing, automotive a plus
• Positive attitude
• Well-organized and detail oriented
• Enjoys solving problems and able to adjust if needed
• Able to document and direct others in use of processes and procedures
• Understands production flow processes
• Excellent communication:
  • English and Spanish highly desired
• Able to instruct and motivate others to complete tasks and meet goals
• Comfortable and effective working with a diverse team
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Current or previous forklift certification a plus
