Job Title: Warehouse Manager

About the position
Supervises the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff. Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space. Operates an applicable system to update inventory status and respond to stakeholder's inquiries. Oversees all incoming and outgoing shipments, stock placement, material transfers and picking for production by preforming the following duties.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum two (2) years of warehouse protocol and processes experience and extensive experience in heavy equipment manufacturing
- Background in material placement/stocking and understanding of the fundamentals of material movement in operating systems and how this relates to production and material inventories.
- Heavy equipment shipping and receiving experience.
- Knowledge of how work within purchasing/procurement and manufacturing teams flow in order to ensure that proper processes are followed, thus being able to ensure good time management and productivity.
- Parts picking experience and understanding of protocol and importance of on-time delivery and equipment capacity for material.
- Background in cycle counts and ability to properly communicate counts to requesting department.
- Understanding and ability to continually work on cost reductions and ways to increase productivity ability to record these through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Safe forklift and/or crane operation experience
- Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products.
- Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components.
- Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
- Knowledge of the processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
- Ability to work satisfactorily as a team member and communicate with all levels within the company.
- Understanding of manufacturing and production and how these processes are related and ability to see how the Bills of Materials (BOMs) affect these if not maintained and followed, regarding picking for machine production.
- Ability to handle sudden changes in project/priority and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a positive fashion.
- Data entry/typing and proofreading skills
- Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook with Microsoft Dynamics AX with RF Smart operating system knowledge considered a plus.
- Ability to train, motivate and guide a team toward goal of continuous improvement relating to efficiency in production and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints and details within them.
- Ability to read and complete transportation bills of lading.
- Ability to operate FedEx and UPS shipping computers.
- Must complete and maintain forklift and crane operation certifications and be able to safely operate a forklift and crane at all times.
- Ability to use calculator and other standard office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, etc.)
Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Maintains a good and clear communication path between buyers and production teams so proper material picks are processed in a correct and timely sequence.
- Sorts and verifies pick sheets and ensures they are correct and up to date with the current Bills of Material, matching the requirement for each machine serial number.
- Ensures that each production pick is completed in proper sequence of production process and checks this against sequence checklist as well as the needs of each production cell.
- Makes sure all material shortages for production picks are communicated to buyer responsible for machine or pick being processed in a timely matter.
- Handles day-to-day shipping, receiving, and stocking processes and makes sure these are all done in a timely manner and that safe practices are followed at all times.
- Establishes and writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and trains personnel on proper procedures required for that role at Client’s offsite warehouse.
- Oversees warehouse on-hand inventory and control of material within making sure all material is properly identified and assigned a location.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
