This is a full-time hourly position that is in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance for this position.
The Warehouse Senior Assistant Supervisor is an ambassador and a leader in bridging customer service with Hershey’s retail and food divisions. This position will set the tone for the team by demonstrating superior customer service and is responsible for coaching warehouse team members to maximize customer engagement. This role supports the Warehouse Leadership Team by ensuring the team is delivering a world class experience. The Warehouse Senior Assistant Supervisor is responsible for driving results through:

The Warehouse Senior Assistant Supervisor is responsible for maintaining warehouse standards set by Warehouse Management Team. The incumbent participates in staff meetings and provides insight on consumer feedback.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Deliver World Class Customer Service
- Effectively coach and motivate all part-time team members to provide world-class guest service and support our culture
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and retention of team members
- Collaborates with broader HCW team to develop and leverage cross-functional synergies
- Uses available tools and practices to reward and recognize team members
- Understands and leverages metrics (KPIs) to assess business performance
- Ability to problem solve and identify solutions
- Facilitate employee training including appropriate coaching and counseling where needed and Power Industrial Truck (PIT) training
Warehouse Supervisor Duties
- In addition to regular responsibilities, have a presence in the warehouse to deliver a high level of team engagement and meet department goals while maintaining the Hershey Company brand reputation
- Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing to meet the needs of the business which includes adjusting schedules to ensure appropriate coverage within budget.
- Responsible for work control and flow through delegation and prioritization (lead by example)
- Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization while under timeline pressure
- Participate in annual performance feedback for flex force employees
- Track flex force attendance in accordance with HCW Attendance Policy
Warehouse Operations
- Collaborates in the development of specific action plans and initiatives to support business strategy
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse including reducing or adding staff as the business requires
- Ensure the warehouse is neat and clean and that product is rotated correctly
- Maintain compliance with all our policies and procedures
- Be an advocate for safe work habits and safety protocol
- Be able to accurately and efficiently complete all warehouse functions
- Monitor picking and put away quantities to ensure all items are available for our customers and order from supply chain if needed
- Provides feedback to site leadership on product, policies, and safety
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Warehouse service orientation with an emphasis on building internal/external culture through role modeling behavior
- Proven ability to lead and create a positive work environment around teamwork and motivation
- Business acumen and ability to identify behaviors that drive positive results
- Effective communication with all levels of leadership and collaboration on HCW promotions/events
- Proven time management skills through a sense of urgency, delegation, ability to prioritize tasks/projects, and empowerment to problem solve
- Must possess or be able to attain Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certification
- Must maintain a neat appearance and meet uniform standards
- Must be able to walk and stand for at least 8 hours
- Must be able to sit for up to 2 hours
- Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift 75 pounds
- Requires overhead lifting, stooping, bending, and twisting
- Must have intermediate math skills to add and subtract inventory
- Must be able to operate a personal computer and understand WMS software
- Must have basic Microsoft Office computer skills
- Prior experience in a high-volume warehouse distribution setting is preferred
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Experience:
1) 18 months of supervisory experience in customer service, warehouse management, or operations management is required
2) Forklift experience is required
