Job description
Expected to thoroughly and accurately read customer orders, pick orders from their assigned picking locations, and ship orders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Picking customer orders from the assigned picking location and loading up carts with orders that need to be fulfilled.
- Inspect products for defects and damages of ingoing and outgoing shipments. (Attention to detail)
- Double check all orders before they go out the door to verify product item and customer name matches
- Ability to shop rates
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Report any discrepancies with orders
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers as well as other departments
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment. (Big Joe & Forklift)
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
- Ensure all packages get put in their proper locations at the end of the day before leaving
- Keep a clean and safe organized working environment and optimize space utilization
- Ensure all orders are being shipping by deadline
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Proven work experience in warehouse shipping
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
ABILITY TO:
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to shift tasks frequently and work with a sense of urgency
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet all day.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Current forklift license (not required but a plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
