REPORTS TO: Warehouse Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Non-Exempt
GENERAL HOURS: Varies
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Receive and prepare for shipment all product and other miscellaneous items. Properly stack and account for the same. Maintain the warehouse and grounds in a clean and orderly manner. This position is considered a safety sensitive position as defined by the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention and Testing Program as allowed under the State of Oklahoma House Bill 2612 (aka “The Unity Bill”).
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (this is not all-inclusive):
- Properly document any incoming or outgoing products.
- Immediately communicate any discrepancies in shipments to Warehouse Management.
- Ensure that all products and packages are properly rotated to the requirements of our suppliers (FIFO).
- Maintain the warehouse and grounds in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
- Clean and fill batteries on the forklifts and floor scrubber weekly.
- Complete daily forklift inspections with documentation per OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure all bins are filled to capacity.
- Ensure that all products that are in a split bay that may need to be filled are taken to layer pick and split.
- Make all appropriate moves in the Encompass WMS System correlating to the movement of product physically accomplished.
- Pay attention to pickers pick cut messages that come across handheld/tablet and listed for pickers requests for product replenishment.
- Adjust inventory in bins if quantity is incorrect in the system.
- Remove all empty pallets to the appropriate dunnage staging area and separate pallets by size correctly.
- Move all full bags of plastic to back and place in gaylords.
- Ensure all returned product is returned to the correct bin.
- Approach all assignments and tasks in a safe manner.
- Ensure all safety checks and inspections are completed on any warehouse equipment used while completing assignments.
- Notify management immediately of any damages to racks.
- Report any equipment issues or concerns to warehouse management immediately.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate and cooperate with all departments of the company to ensure the smooth operation of the company as a whole.
- Maintain a positive relationship with all customers, co-workers and management.
- Maintain appropriate dress and personal appearance.
- Know, understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Promote company goodwill in all areas, assist others and perform tasks as appropriate and/or necessary to help maintain the positive image of Capital Distributing in the market.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent warehouse experience
- Must have good computer and technical skills or willing to learn
- Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize
- Good written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 25 to 50 lbs, up to 75 lbs occassionally
- Must be able to twist and reach overhead
- Must be able to crawl and/or climb a ladder
