JOB TITLE: Warehouse Picker | Material Handler
FLSA JOB STATUS: Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
On a daily basis pick materials from Warehouse inventory using a forklift. Pull product for manufacturing areas as needed. Load and unload trailers for shipping and receiving. Maintain an organized and clean warehouse. Inventory responsibilities of maintaining inventory, cycle counting, maintain accurate records, and assisting purchasing and shipping/receiving with discrepancies
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for using all material transporting equipment in a safe manner.
- Operation of a hand truck and/or forklift
- Compliance of all safety rules.
- Organization of warehouse
- Maintain equipment, fill out daily check lists.
- Load and lift wrapped product into trailers
- Alert Supervisor of any discrepancy in Bill of Lading’s or receivers.
- Follows assigned production schedule and reports progress to supervisor as needed.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Maintains clean work areas.
- Work with assembly for proper flow of product.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work in cold conditions.
- Intermediate math skills to include fractions and decimals, including conversion.
- Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately.
- Have good attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and desire to take on new projects.
- Must present a professional image.
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to purchasing and inventory control manager.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control manager.
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years material handling experience preferred
- Previous experience with inventory control
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work on feet for up to 8 hours
- Ability to bend, reach, lift and grip up to 50lbs
- Capable of handling a fast-paced environment
